About Dappled Goat & Co

It began with goats!

Ben and Gemma breed Anglo Nubian goats and Boer goats on their smallholding in West Yorkshire. During kidding season, they would milk some of them to alleviate them of excess milk, preventing conditions such as mastitis.

A lot of this fantastically healthy and nutritious milk would end up being wasted, so they decided to start making Goats Milk Soap. With a much longer shelf life than milk, it seemed like a good way to make use of the creamy goodness. Quite soon they had more soap than one household could get through, so they started trying out different scents, got them cosmetically tested, and started selling them at farmer's markets and on craft stalls.

This grew from only selling Goats Milk Soap, to also making candles to sell in gift sets with the soap around Christmas time. They now make and sell Goats Milk Soap, Soy Wax Candles and Wax melts alongside other soap accessories and gift sets.

Goats are the main livestock on their small farm, but they also keep sheep, rare breed pheasants, chickens, ducks, English partridge, and occasionally cows. Alongside the farm animals, they also have a horse, a dog, and a cat.

These extra animals make up the '& Co' part of their name!
